During his career as a journalist, Serge Fleyfel conducted thousands of interviews for Radio-Canada, as much for radio and television newscasts as for current affairs shows. He has hosted television newscasts for several years as well as election night information programs. A graduate in sociology (BA) and political science (HBA), he holds a certificate in journalism. He taught a communications course at the University of Alberta, and led several public relations campaigns. For twenty years, he has devoted himself to communication and media-communication/risk training. He runs the company Fleyfel Communications where he acts as the main trainer and has been (and still is) under mandate as a bilingual spokesperson for a federal government agency for more than fifteen years.

- Practice and its analysis are very good ways to better understand and integrate the concepts
- The approach doesn't just apply to media. Simplifying and popularizing can become a major asset in presenting our research activities to our superiors.
- I liked the point on the "key message"...an approach to use regularly.
- The course allowed me to demystify the treatment of information by the media and to understand the importance of delivering a simple, clear and precise key message.
- What I liked the most: How to prioritize information.
- I learned new aspects of communication, and I discovered my strengths and my weaknesses. I can work there! Thank you very much!
- The whole course was very interesting and informative. I particularly enjoyed getting to know more about the journalist's work.
- I liked the scenarios (interview practices). It's good to practice theory!
- Although we are always reluctant to do the practical exercises (the fear of ridicule is strong!), this aspect of the course is essential and we learn a lot from it. It was very pleasant.
- I gained some confidence and it's certainly for explaining to me all the ins and outs of big media communication.
- The course was very interesting and showed me how to present information about my research activity effectively.
- Much better than other courses taken on the same subject. Thank you very much.
- The course gave me a better understanding of the needs of journalists and how we should go about preparing for a possible interview (radio-tv).
- Liked most: Understanding that message preparation is the foundation of good communication.
- What I liked: The didactic approach is excellent. We are quickly put in a situation of imbalance - in front of the microphone, and we, therefore, learn more quickly from our mistakes. We grasp the "tricks" of the media interview.
- Best training I've had in a long time. Liked the most: The direct and comprehensive approach of the facilitator. Liked least: (nothing) Really good training.
- Very interesting, and thought-provoking... lots of novelties on communication processes.
